About Me - Amy O in the Know
About Me

Hi! I’m Amy

Lifestyle Blogger

So Much to TALK About. So Little Time.

Hi There! My name is Amy O’Grady, I’m 35 years old and I live in Neptune Beach, Florida with my husband Patrick O’Grady. As Jacksonville natives we love raising our two boys in the same beach community we grew up in. Born to a family of entrepreneurs, it is no wonder that I have always been a self starter.

It’s been a long journey, but after years of shuffling my way through a variety of industries I’ve finally found my place as a blogger. I am sure my friends would all say I was designed for it, but I spent a lot of time avoiding it. I didn’t want to be just another girl with a blog. I wanted to make a difference with what I had to share. To be effective at that I had to take the time to gain the life experiences I write about.

I have an extensive background in the fashion and retail industry. I graduated from Florida State University with a double Major in Apparel Design and Fashion Merchandising. With all of that I  decided many years ago that I had no desire to work in the industry as I had learned it. Instead I wanted to find a way to have both the family life I envisioned and a career.  So here I am combining my passions, motherhood, and entrepreneurial spirit as a blogger.

I feel incredibly lucky to be able to share what I know with you. You won’t find anything on here that I don’t truly love and have used within my own personal life. There is an infinite amount of possibilities for how we approach life. There is no right or wrong way to do things. So I hope as I share what I know you leave here feeling refreshed and inspired.

My Mission in Life is not to just survive, but to thrive in all things I do.

I’m sure over time, if you choose to follow my blog, you will get to know what type of person I am first hand.  Believe it or not I would much rather someone else tell you about myself than me. But hear I am giving you the inside scoop on everything Amy O!

I run on Coffee & Jesus

My Faith is a large part of who I am. I even joined the Pi Beta Phi sorority who’s mascot is an angel and symbol is an arrow. I believe God is actively at work in my life helping me set my priorities and providing for me daily. I am glad God uses broken people like me to share his love. While I strive to live my life in a way that honors God, without Grace and Coffee I would be a total mess.

My Family is my Center

I always knew I would be a mother but I never imagined it would be to the O’Grady boys. Being a Boy mom has been and adventure. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband to help me keep up with them. Patrick is my biggest supporter, best friend, and sounding board. There is no way I could do what I do without him. When I am not working, bargain shopping, or blogging I love spending time with my family. We make the most of every moment we have together. The more memories we can make as a family the better.

The Best Things in Life Are Free

It goes without saying that money can’t buy you happiness. If you learn one thing about me I hope it is that I don’t need any of the things I purchase. Take it all away and leave me my relationships and I will survive.  In the same breath I still love the joy a free item brings.

Start Today

My mom was the one who first introduced me to frugal living.  Not only that, but she also pushed me to make my own decisions and go after my goals. She always told me if I wait until I feel ready or financially prepared to go after what I most want in life, I will most likely be waiting forever. The difference between people who are successfully creating their dreams and those who are not does not come down to talent or skill alone; it comes down to self-belief. So beleive you are capable and start today.

Smart Thermostats Demand Smart Strategies for Avoiding Pitfalls

“They may not ask for a stat specifically that has voice command,” she explained. “But we can see that they have all the products that easily connect, just by servicing their home. Often, they already know they have the ability to connect the devices, based on their familiarity with their Alexa and Google Home products.”

2019 Top 40 Under 40 HVACR Professional

“Being a licensed woman in the HVAC industry has empowered me to push beyond what I thought I might be capable of and take on a new direction in the trades that I might not have planned for myself. I want to help ensure that this industry is able to attract and engage the strongest talent back into the trades. My start was not in the trades, and as a result, I would love to be a resource to other women looking to join HVAC industry,” O’Grady said.

2019 Bryant True Heroes Award Presentation

Bryant True Heroes are real people who are making a difference in their communities every day without stopping for a moment to receive recognition for their actions. “We are so thankful our partnership with the Jumbo Shrimp helped us find Lily.” Said General Manager Amy O’Grady.  “She is such a great example of a True Hero, putting her own needs second to others. She has never had Air Conditioning in her home, and we are honored to be the company that gets to change that for her.”
